People are attracted to people who are following their passion.

How do you become more passionate?

Answer: By following your passion!

By the way, don’t get caught too caught up on WHAT your passion is. You won’t find it in your head.

Here’s something you can do…

  1. Look at all the the fun things you can spend your day doing, or goals you can work towards.
  2. Go for the thing that excites you the most.

Example: I’m lucky living in Norway, which provides me some great student loan advantages. So I chose to go to California and study. I didn’t give a sweet fuck about studying. But studying was the best WAY to get to BE in California.

Today I’m $70,000 in student loan debt, but the interest is low, so the bills aren’t too nasty. Warning: When you follow your excitement, the stakes are higher. Take calculated risks. Go for what your spirit wants. You deserve it.

Inspiration is the best framework to act from. It’ll also last. Sure, the inspiration may not last. But the way of life will get you further in the long run. Inspiration regarding a particular activity will sometimes be non-existent. Then you gotta question yourself, do you really want this? Take a break. After the break, ask yourself again… do you want this?

I believe following your inspiration will teach you about life. You’ll learn quicker because your actions have more intent, therefore more response. Be prepared: you’re still going to have challenges. Sometimes you will also get disappointed. Especially when you follow egoic desires. But until attain them you may not learn how empty those desires are. That’s when you realize you have to search for something truer.

A lot of people will think, “but I want to get FAR in life! If I want to get far in life I should desire these things”.

Well, following your PURPOSE rather than egoic desires will take you further in the longer run, because the other alternative will just burn you out. Taking the non-passionate path will feel phony, and it’ll lead you into boredom, stress and disease.  

What about paying the bills?

A deal breaker for many people is the financial unpredictability that comes with choosing passion over the safer traditional route. It’ll probably take years to reach financial success on your own, so find a way to live an alright life meanwhile. If you live with your parents and they’re okay with having you around a couple years, live there and spend all your time on building your life. If they kick you out, get a job, and spend your evenings on working on your passion/career. If you can’t possibly function in a job, like me, and you can’t live with your parents, here’s what you CAN do…

    • Go to a cheap country. I’m serious. You can live in Thailand or Bali for a few hundred bucks per month. You get a meal for a couple bucks. An apartment for $200. It’s nuts. Lots of girls there who like tourists as well. If you feel too scared, make it a goal to overcome enough social anxiety so you can do something like this.
      • You don’t believe this?
        • HEY, THIS IS ME, FRED. THIS IS REALITY. WAKE UP. IT’S TRUE. YOU CAN GO LIVE A COOL LIFE, WITHIN A FEW MONTHS. If you have lived a hard life, it’s hard to believe that a great lifestyle can be this close, at your fingertips. All you need is the courage to go.
      • Everybody can make a few hundred dollars per month online. Note that it might take some discomfort, trying and failing, but you can do it. You can also save up a couple of paychecks and live at an awesome place for a YEAR. However, I recommend making sure that your money strategy works before you move, unless you have money saved up already.

There are thousands of ways to make a few hundred bucks per month online.

  • What’s the one thing that people ask you to help them with? What are you already good at?
        • There’s probably a way of monetizing it. You can do consulting or become a tutor.
        • Are there any online jobs you can do? Like web design, editing, article writing or programming?
  • There are lots of things you can do to make money. Even though you may not find something you love right away, you can find something good enough to at least enjoy. And you can find something in which you’re not LOCATION INDEPENDENT, which means you can be ANYWHERE in the world.
  • Study abroad! This lead me to California, and the Youtube adventure. I had no idea this thing was gonna be my passion. So just do things that feels exciting, and see where that takes you.

Remember, one day you’re gonna leave the world. So don’t repress your dreams of a great lifestyle because “they” didn’t want you to. 🙂
